Rosetta

Rosetta encrypts locally on your device. No server, no AI, no tracking.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Rosetta handles data. The simple rule: Rosetta does not collect personal data and does not communicate with any server we operate.

Data Rosetta does NOT collect

How local encryption works

When you encrypt or decrypt a message, the computation happens exclusively on your iPhone or iPad. The shared phrase, the plaintext and the ciphertext never leave the device through Rosetta.

Saved phrase (Pro feature)

If you turn on “Remember phrase” (a Pro feature), the phrase is stored locally on the device using an iOS App Group, so the Rosetta keyboard can read it too. The phrase is never sent online. Turning off “Remember phrase” removes it from the device.

“Allow Full Access”

iOS shows a standard warning when you enable “Allow Full Access” for any third-party keyboard. Rosetta uses this permission only to let its keyboard read the locally saved phrase through the App Group. Rosetta does not send what you type online.

Payments

Rosetta Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple through your Apple ID. Rosetta does not see or store your payment details.

What Rosetta does NOT do

If you lose the phrase

Rosetta keeps no remote copies of phrases or messages. If you lose the shared phrase, we cannot recover it, and we cannot recover messages encrypted with it.
